On Thanksgiving Day, when walking the trail on the north side of Mother Lake, I found a doe with a broken hind leg. She was shockey and did not make much of an effort to flee from me or my dogs. She let them sniff her, and at one point, she even brushed up against me.
She was in obvious suffering, and because it was a holiday, there were no wildlife services open to call. So I contacted the airport police, who said they’d find her and put her down.
However, I have since heard a report that she is still roaming the property. If you see her, please let’s try to give her another chance. Call the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center at 651-486-9453 and ask them if they can help.
