Someone left a brown male pit bull at the dog park this morning. There was no owner information on his tags, but by calling the vet’s office on his rabies tag, we were able to determine his name: Eddie.
I had to leave, but another owner said she’d stay with Eddie until the vet’s office was able to locate his owner. (Thanks, Maggie!).
How does this happen? Did someone really think it was OK to let their dog run loose without them? Eddie is a strong, dominant, competitive male who could easily get into scrapes with other dogs over a toy. Beyond that, he could wander off the property and get hit by a car, or stolen by someone to use in dog fights.
This is disturbing. Seriously. I can only hope that it was an accidental, bizarre chain of events that left Eddie alone. If someone knows the full story, I’d love to hear it.
