I heard that there was an altercation on the property this morning following a dogfight. Did anyone see what happened?

This is what I saw happen – only my point of view.
Let’s call one man Hans, and the other, Luke. Both dogs are good sized, and Hans’ dog has a muzzle.
The two dogs got into a normal fight. Hans and Luke pulled their dogs off of each other and had each by the collar. This is where we all can agree it should have ended. Instead, Hans said, “your dog bit my dog. He’s an asshole. You’re an asshole.” (note, yes, the *dog* is an asshole). “If your dog bites my dog again, I’m taking my dog’s muzzle off”.
The muzzle comment did not deter Luke. He was too upset about the name calling and whatnot. So, it went on like this for a minute, while we all milled around trying to act like we were not watching.
One thing led to another and Hans and Luke started fighting. I ran over and yelled for them to stop, get their dogs and leave the park immediately. Their fighting did not stop and it escalated the dogs’ tempers as well. We called the police at this time.
They continued to hit each other. The dogs were fighting ferociously at this point as well (somewhere in this time, Hans removed his dog’s muzzle, which really scared me). To add to the fracas, Hans was kicking Luke’s dog whenever he got the chance. Other dogs joined the melee, so now they had not only involved themselves, but us too (except my dog who sat there dumbly, thank goodness).
An angel in the form of another man jumped on Luke and pinned him to the ground. Finally, they broke up, both thinking they were in the right!
I had to pack up my dog, as did others b/c it was getting too dangerous for them. The cops arrived about 10 minutes after it was over, but I don’t have any information after that.
It was idiotic! The dogs got into an initial, dogs-will-be-dogs fight, and everything from there on out was escalated only by the people. One dog ended up getting really hurt! They put their dogs in jeopardy and ours too. Just pull your dog off and leave!
Thank you for your un-bias well written accounting and good last paragraph reflection. This is unbelievable.
Man, that’s ugly. Are these two guys regulars? I’m concerned that this might happen again if they run into each other in the near future.
Whose dog was hurt?
The dog that got hurt belonged to one of the men fighting. They both seemed vaguely familiar, although I’m not there during the work day often, so don’t know anyone.
I saw some of the fight and it was not pretty. I have been coming to the park for five years with our rottweillers and have never had a problem. I have never seen these guys who were fighting that morning but it was awful to see.
Django/any other witnesses,
Please contact Airport Police Department’s Investigations Unit as we would like to know if anyone had seen the suspect’s vehicle or even the license plate of his vehicle. APD case # 09-0198. This is our third case already for 2009 at the unofficial airport dog park.
Thank you,

Not again! I guess people really love their dogs and will do anything including fighting. Wow. The majority of us just want all dogs to have a good time. Lets keep the park safe and not overreact or under react to situations.
About a week ago a couple of my friends were at the park. His account of the situation. Their dogs were picking on a more timid dog. While one friend was running over to break it up the man hit one dog with his chucker stick. Friend said “don’t hit the F—ing dog” The man thought he was running over to fight and started throwing punches. So friend defended himself and the cops were called and that was that.
I’m not taking any sides, I probably don’t have the story quite correct, and do not know the other persons view of event. Just a learning experience I hope not to share.
