The property is back to what I consider “normal” for summer. The marsh edge is dry, and dogs have to run quite a ways into the cattails before finding any muck. There will be a puddle by the main corner gate after a hard rain, but it will quickly evaporate in a day or two.
As is typical, vegetation has largely choked off the path that leads to the nature trail north of the lake. Dogs and adventurous humans can probably still find it in the dense weeds, although they will almost certainly pick up some ticks for their efforts.
In short, you can once again let your dog run free without too much risk of having to hose him off afterward. Yay!
