Warmer temperatures are thawing out the park, leaving scattered patchy areas and a gigantic puddle near the main gate. Rain is forecast for tonight, followed by a sharp drop in temperatures to single digits again. This will make the remaining snowpack glossy and extremely slippery on the trails. YakTrax are highly recommended! Diamond Lake Hardware has some in stock.

I wouldn’t risk it. If something happens, you’re all alone out there. Besides, the marsh is off-limits, according to the no trespassing signs. The airport police have been known to track down people hiking through the cattails.
Thanks. I know it’s off limits – just a matter of keeping the boys out of there!!! So if anyone does know if the lake is actually frozen over, please let me know. I’d hate to have to stay away all winter. THANKS!!
Something to say?

Does anyone know if the lake is frozen over completely and paw-safe?
We made the mistake of taking our two swimmers to Minnehaha Park today, and they ended up in the water after heading out on the ice (goes out about 20 feet). LUCKILY William got them out without falling in himself!
