Two Rubber Chuck-It Balls

Posted by Devon & Chaz on June 29th, 2007

Chaz and I had a bad day at the dog park yesterday!  We lost not one but TWO Chuck-It balls.  They are orange and blue, with a smooth rubber surface (not felt). Both have Chaz’s name written on them (although it might be faint and hard to read on one).
If found, please contact me at [...]

snakes

Last summer when I was at one end of the park (opposite the runways) I came across some good sized garden snakes. Scared the liver outta me!  My dog would have loved to see them first, but as it was they slithered back into their hole pretty quickly.  It was by that sticking up (and stinky) drain at that end.

Week of June 17

Posted by Devon & Chaz on June 18th, 2007

The park appears dry (almost crispy), but beware the storm drain by the end of the runway. There’s 6-8 inches of standing water in the ditch. My retriever plopped down into it, which was predictable, but he also drank some and it made him puke.
Your dog, of course, might be smarter…

Week of June 10

All dry and clear. No trace left of the recent rains, as it’s been so hot. I haven’t ventured back on the nature trail since it got overgrown, due to the ticks. If anyone wants to report on conditions back there, please feel free.

We are visitors [...]

I posted about a week ago that I needed a sitter for my dogs while I went to visit my mom who is terminally ill.  Well that never happened because she was put in the hospita 2 weeks ago and is going down hill fast, she’s here in st. paul and will be going to [...]

Ticks!

Posted by Devon & Chaz on June 2nd, 2007

Alan, who comes to the park with his Rhodesian Ridgeback, Tandi, says he ventured along the edge of the marsh on the nature trail the other day and later had to pick three ticks off himself.
Yuck!
So, this is just a reminder that we are well into tick season now, especially with all the wet weather. [...]
