The higher elevations of the park are dry. Downhill, the bare patches are moist, but not sloppy.

If your dog runs a few yards into the cattails, she may return wet and muddy (I’m looking at you, Nikki).  Also, there is standing water north of the nature trail, in that flat area where all the fallen logs are. The stormwater ditch still has water in it, and there’s also standing water in spots south of the trail along the edge of the marsh.

I suspect all these marshy areas are caused by a high water table from the spring runoff, so I don’t expect it to dry out soon. If you take the nature trail north of the lake, you and your dog will stay clean and dry as long as you stay on the path and turn around before reaching the ditch.

Thursday: About the same. Chaz found some muck just south of the nature trail, so we won’t be back there for a while.
