My partner and I recently started using the Airport Dog Park and LOVE it! Although, we have noticed that there seems to be ALOT of poop not picked up…after seeing all the thought put into this topic on here, I had a thought and who knows; it may have been discussed before.Â
I know that MAC does not provide a garbage can for poop patrol; however, could we? We could put a garbage can there and devise a “schedule” of volunteers to empty it every couple days. Having easy access to a garbage can might encourage those who are not picking up their poop, to do so.
Thoughts?
We plan to be utilizing the park a lot and would be willing to sign up for a day and also empty it whenever we notice that it needs it…

Hi, Derek and Josh! Welcome to the blog!
That’s one of the questions we’d like to ask the MAC when we can sit down with them. I’d like for two or three of us to meet with the public information officer in person, if possible.
If you’re new to the park, you may not realize that we did have a volunteer emptying a garbage can for a while, but the job proved way too big (and thankless) for one person.
It may well be that the MAC will insist on no garbage can, and if that’s the case, then we’ll just have to step up our efforts and make sure people know what’s expected of them if they use the property.
